Envisioning Access, formerly known as Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers, has named two new board members, Glenn Gomes-Casseres and Alex James Major, to its board of directors.

Gomes–Casseres is a Technology and Innovation leader with over 20 years of experience building products and services that customers love. He is currently an independent consultant advising startups on their product and business strategies.

Previously, he was VP of Product & Design at SimpliSafe—a rapidly-growing home security company based in Boston—where he led the introduction of innovative new cameras and security services.

Before this, Gomes–Casseres held various Product Management and R&D roles at Bose Corporation. Among his accomplishments there, he formed an internal incubator to explore and enter new lines of business by leveraging Bose’s unique technology and engineering resources.

Gomes–Casseres has an MBA from Columbia Business School and an undergraduate degree in Physics from Princeton University.

Major is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he has studied neuroscience for five years. His research investigates how different brain regions communicate using neurotransmitters and brain rhythms.

During his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Western Ontario, Major studied the actions of neurotransmitters dopamine and acetylcholine on neuronal activity in the prefrontal cortex.

Major joined the Picower Institute for Learning and Memory in 2019, where he is researching communication between entire brain circuits during cognitive behavior and short-term memory. In addition, his work has investigated the role of brain rhythms during anesthesia.

Major looks forward to this opportunity to improve patient quality of life and accessibility through the services of Envisioning Access.
